Hello everyone,

Is the steering controlled by cable? if it is what is the power steering unit for?

Boosting the effort.  the same principle that happens in your car, in that the hydraulics are prompted by the input and increase its strength on the output side.

For some reason I was thinking we were talking about an '89 rig, but reading closer you've not yet said what year your rig is.  

In 89 steering was boosted by cables... Since around the mid nineties, it's all hydraulics from the helm on back.  

If yours is post that development, you likely have either air in the lines, or a bad steering pin thingy between the yoke and the upper.  

I'm going to get back to my scotch and cigar, now.

AF anejo #46... Not from this past December, but the one before... They have a nice bloom on them, and I'm figurin they're about as good as they'll get.  And though I started with scotch, I finished with pappy.  Yesterday was the wife's birthday, which meant sandbar all day and then get together at night... I was winding down solo by the pool when I responded to the post.
