So I removed the cabin speakers and installed a pair of home ceiling speakers today. I removed the adapter panel and filled the cavities with fill material. there are bolts attaching the cabinets together I had to cut shorter with a hack saw. with the size of the factory hole, I was able to install an 8" speaker. grills are magnetically attached. I think I will shoot some flat black paint on the grills.
I also installed a Bluetooth adapter on the radio aux input. works like champ.
