Tipping dock hands

How much do people generally tip a dock hand when tying up at a restaurant? Does it depend on size? I have a 24ft and boat in the Connecticut river and Long Island New York.

Maybe I'm cheap but I dunno about tipping somebody for just catching a line and wrapping it around a cleat. I do that for my neighbors in our marina all the time...just common courtesy.
This is, of course, different than a fueling or pump out dock where there may be some services performed.

Maybe I'm just getting "tipped out".

Thanks for the advise. Personally I think the pump out guy deserves the biggest tip. It is a crappy job!

Jhofmann, Im in Branford, CT and typically I tip $5 to a dock hand. $10 to the pump out/gas kid (Usually gas and pump out happens at the same time)
