Shower Sump on 260EC -- no power

The shower sump quit working after last winter. Not getting power. I swapped the circuit breaker at the helm -- no help. Other bilge pump in the mid-berth is working fine. I do notice a 3rd wire coming off the pump that is not connected -- should it be ?

I had the same problem. I never found the exact cause, but I suspect corrosion in a wire or connector. I just ran heavier gauge new wires and replaced the pump while I was at it. The old pump still works and I've kept it as a portable backup bilge pump.
I believe the third wire to the pump is needed when that same model is used a bilge pump. This allows you to use a manual switch and a float switch to activate the pump.
