Fuel Tank

I bought a 2001 Fiesta Vee 270 last June and the fuel tank ruptured on the last ride of the season in October of last year.  The mechanic pull the tank out in April and I still don't have a fuel tank in the boat and the mechanic has gone MIA.  Unfortunately, I do not have the old tank to compare to and I am looking to purchase another fuel tank on my own.  I was wondering if anyone would know the specs to the fuel tank?  I have the dimensions but need all the other schematics for the tank.  Anyone have any suggestions or had to install there own fuel tank before?  I am thinking of making the fuel tank smaller since the first tank corroded due to what I believe was lack of air flow.  Any help would be greatly appreciated this is going to be a difficult endeavor.

You will just have to get a new one made.

Florida Marine Tanks was the OEM supplier. You could contact them to get the specs or Cindy Scott at Rinker.

In my opinion 1/8 inch thick is way to thin for a fuel tank.

1/8" is a lot of metal Handy...I'm surprised they are that thick! If my tank goes, I will for sure investigate the bladder before I tear the boat apart and but something back in there I know will fail.

It is aluminum Ras so if its thicker for longer life it would not weigh a lot more

true dat! At some thickness I'd think hard to weld up though, not a welder. It's just a horrible design. At least in my bow rider I could have taken the top off-think they could come up with something better but 100 gallons is a lot of fuel...
