2007 Captiva 226 Walk through transom filler cushion

My boat came with the filler cushion but I can use the walk through so much easier without the cushion.  I see that some boats do not have the cushion but the engine cover and sun pad extend over the portion where the hinges would be.  What can I do to cover this space?

Here is what it's supposed to look like from the factory without the filler cushion option.   Does anyone know if parts like these were ever available or possibly still?  Does anyone have this setup?  Is it a one piece engine hatch?
