Looking at installing a windlass on my 276CC. It is not prewired for a windlass but have been told that it can be done? Can you confirm that it is doable and what is involved? ie changes to the bow to accommodate this? Looking at a Lewmar V700 or equivalent. There is an anchor storage compartment and a bow ladder.

There needs to be about a 2" hole cut with a hole saw for the chaiin and rope to go through. The instructions come with a template to eliminate guess work. Wires need to be fed through back to the helm for your switch and the switch needs to be mounted at the helm. There are options like foot pedal controls on the bow or remote controls which would add to the job if you like.
And make sure the end of your anchor line is bolted down usually to the bow eye U bolt inside the compartment behind your mirror. If you have skill and tools and enjoy little projects, have at it! -
