generator for 2000 rinker 270

I have a 2000 rinker Fiesta vee 270 without a generator and was wondering if anyone knew how much it would be to install a generator on the boat? I know aftermarket that is just portable is a cheap way but I'd like to actually install one.

Depending on make of gen and if your wired for it $10,000 is a real close number.

yep, around the 10 grand mark.....I have an installed one and wish I had the room below to service the motor...don't get me wrong I really like it and wanted it when I shopped for it but don't use it nearly as much as I thought I would...

whole reason I never put one in couldn't justify the cost for the use

I use mine a lot now that it works. lol. Would nevergo without again.

My 99 Rinker 270 setup for $675, 2000watt on swimdeck w/ shorepower cord and pigtail.  Only long days and hot days.  We don't overnight on the hook much.

does a diesel genny billow out the black smoke? I know trucks I sell are so much less efficient with all the emissions on them, I assume boats are going that way?

No smoke at all. Now my engines smoke at idle but not running.

The loudest part of any generator is the water blowing out the side of the boat and splashing the water.

Yep I saw that price at Calvert today.  Gas went up 20 cents today to3.29 at spring cove. Ticked me off because I was here anchored yesterday.  oh well, 180 gal later.
