Battery charging

I'm new to boating and have just purchased my first boat a rinker 242 Fiesta Vee. While I'm connected to shore power, what position should the batteries be set too while they are charging? I'm sure this is a pretty simple question but I'm a novice so bear with me!!!

Batteries charge independent of the switch. Just keep it on your normal running position.

Thanks for your quick replies. Very much appreciated! so just to confirm the switch can be on either 1, 2, both or off and they will still charge from the shore power charger?

thats correct, the carger wires are connected to the switch at the respective battery leads.

On some boats, the position of the battery switch does affect charging.  On yours, it doesn't matter because you have a battery isolator (as do most modern express cruisers).
