Fuel tank

Another novice question... I've just purchased a rinker 242 and started it up for the first time today. It run for about 10 seconds and then cut out. I tried it several other times and it fired up and then died and now won't start at all although it does turn over. My first guess is it's out of fuel. Could anyone tell me is the fuel cap the one on the stern or the one on port side? They both say water on them. Looks like the one on the stern is a replacement cap as its black plastic and not chrome like the water and waste caps. My guess is the black replacement cap on the stern is the fuel cap but just want to make sure before I put some fuel in.

If you look in the engine room, follow the 1 1/2 inch black hose that goes from the fuel tank to whichever side the boat the fill is on. When you find that out, replace the cap ASAP!!!!! You wouldn't want someone dumping fuel into your water tank, or water in your fuel tank. The OEM manufacturer for the fuel cap and filler neck is Perko. Port side water stern should be fuel black cap is waste tank. Follow the lines quickest way to know

Yeah don't take chances follow the line and find out which one is right then change the cap.
