LED cabin light upgrade

I replaced all the incandescent lamps with LEDs in my low voltage yard lights a couple of months ago. This was necessary because the old bulbs put out so much heat they were melting and scorching the fixtures.

Coincidentally the same LEDs are a perfect replacement for the cabin lights on my '06 Rinker FV250 too. So I replaced them all. This should help extend house battery life on the hook. Amazon has the LEDs for five bucks each.

If you do a search on here, you can also get the disc shape ones that fit in the cabin lights and are around a buck each.  I replaced all mine with them several years ago.  You will be happy and so will your batteries!

I bought mine from dealextreme.  I bought 27 of them for $50, so it was around $2 each, not the $1 I thought.  They were the G4 style.

@Mark yes the LEDs fit fine under the light covers. A lot of light for one watt!

I also used the disk type.....warm white for the v-berth, aft cabin and overhead at the settee and daylight over the galley. I also changed the fluorescent bulb to led in the head....much much brighter.
