so I am planning around 4,000-4,400 RPM's and cruising between 24-27 mph (dependent on a couple factors of course). Just curious as to what other guys are getting with their 280's. Got a 2007 by the way with the 6.2 bravo III

On the gauge or GPS?  My 280 with the 8.1 runs closer to 35 at 4200rpm. Rpm tops out around 4650 @ 42mph where should it top out at?

YWAIT, imo your numbers sound good. if your speed of 42mph at 4600rpm is gps authenticated you are doing well. With a 496 cu" engine you will get huge bottom end torque that will wrestle your boat onto plane faster and hold it there at lower rpms and generate a higher top end that a 377 cu".

Did Rinker make this boat with twins? Or just the single 6.2 and 8.1?  The only thing I miss about my 258 Vista is that the Penta used to get it on plane in a heartbeat and cruise at 3,000-3,200 RPM's. But I knew what I was doing when I was going to something bigger. Haha.

42 on my Garmin Montana out of my Commander. Shows 46 on the dash. That is prime conditions with no excess weight.  I do find it slow coming up on plane if I add another cooler and a couple more passengers.

Jme097, I'm running similar numbers, occasionally hit 45mph on the GPS depends on tides, boat load etc..
