Rinker 186 and Docking Fenders.

I have just purchased a 186BR and have now noticed that there are no front cleats on this boat. How would one hang fenders for docking?

 I know a number of marine suppliers sell suction cup fender holders - but - I would really only use them for temporary use. It is an easy job to install a couple of cleats if you know how to drill through fiberglass and seal the holes properly. If you don't just ask and we'll tell you. If you get a marina to do it - it should not be an expensive job. Really 15 minutes to drill the holes add sealant and screw the cleat in - per cleat. IF you decide to do it yourself and aren't sure how -  ASK us, so you don't chip your gel coat as there is a specific way to drill through fiberglass. It's not hard to do, there's just a process to follow.

There are also hooks that clamp onto your bow rail if you have one.

I could easily be wrong Aero but I think the newer 186s don't have bow rails. I have seen 186 Fish&Skis come from the factory with bow fender cleats but I guess "regular" 186s don't or maybe it's just what the dealer orders?

Michael is right,  only the fish and ski model comes with bow cleats.  It's too bad they've gone back to fixed cleats.  I really like the stowable cleats on my 226.

Like anything,  you can always add more hardware for hanging fenders or attaching docking lines.
