Two Harbors, Catalina Island Isthmus, California

Just got back from a 90 mile round trip to the Isthmus, which is only a half mile across at its narrowest point. It is hard to believe this little paradise is in Los Angeles County! We moored at Two Harbors on the mainland side. All 190 moorings were taken, it was packed. Check out the dinghy dock! My first time to this part of the island, and although it is not really a town like Avalon, there is a store, a restaurant and a nice beach.
The palm trees were planted during a long ago movie shoot. The sea state was all over the place depending on being in open sea or sheltered by the island, smooth as glass, wind chop/whitecaps, 5 foot swells, etc. etc. We also saw hundreds of dolphins and one grey whale. My Rinker handled the trip without drama and ran like a champ.
