Recently purchased a 2005 282 captiva and the fridge is not getting cold. Need help troubleshooting.

Upgraded from a 232 captiva to a 282 captiva so this is our first boat with shore power. Shore Power is plugged in and there is power going to the fridge as the light inside goes on when fridge door is open...But Fridge is not getting cold. We have the dial on and turned to the coldest setting. What else do we need to be doing or checking? There is no on/off switch anywhere on the dash or battery panel for the fridge...only a fuse for the fridge on battery panel.

Its either the Tstat or the compressor control module most likely.

What make fridge do you have? I have a waeco CR65 in my 242 and if the battery voltage gets below 12 volts the fridge won't run although the light will still come on when the door is open.

If the light is on, you have power. If it's a compressor problem, that light should flash and depending on the number of flashes you get your error code.  If it isn't flashing, than it's not a control board issue, it's likely a t stat issue.

Do you have an electrical panel?  I know on cruisers there is an electrical panel with a breaker.

Had the same issue recently. A repairman came and literally whacked once at the dial with the butt of his drill. He said sometimes things become loose there. It started humming and has been cold ever since. Crazy but try it,

I did pull it out yesterday and tried unplugging and then re-pluging in...The fan is running and the compressor is trying to start but does not fully turn on. I was able to download a manual for it...Tundra model T22AC - Any additional input is welcomed!

Is the light inside the fridge flashing at all? If the compressor is not coming on due to a fault, the light should be flashing. The number of flashes will tell you the fault code.

Mark, that red light is on the module not on the interior light  LOL

On my dometic fridge it's in the interior on the t-stat. It is green if all is okay, it flashes red if there's a problem. I had a compressor problem, high pressure fault, and that's how I found out. I didn't have to take out the fridge to find out. Maybe the Tundra is different, but my fridge certainly tells you from the t-stat.

Handy, see page 39. There's two lights by the t-stat. Green = good, Red = fault. I see it from the front of the fridge.
