Bravo 3 shift cable adjustment

I am having an issue where I need to give the throttle a little more "gas" to get my Bravo 3 to engage in forward gear. In reverse, I am fine. Is there an adjustment that can be made to get me into forward without having to increase the throttle? I know that the ultimate fix is changing the shift cable, but I am trying to salvage next weekend. @Alswagg mentioned in a different thread that the Merc cable shifts smoother than the Sierra one. Where in the parts finder would the shift cable be? In the engine, or the drive?
