Battery switch questions on 2004 FV 250

I am new to this boat as I just purchased it.  I notice that there is the Guest standard battery switch in the cockpit, but I was surprised to see on the engine compartment bulkhead another Guest terminal block.  The supplies for the charger connect there; is that just to make the connection for the charger is there another purpose?

Thanks in advance!

My guess is that it's an isolator for the charging circuit.  Can you post a photo or part #?

Well, this isn't the one on my boat, but it is the same.  So I guess it's an isolator, but can you explain how it works and how its wired?

This allows your battery charger to charge both batteries at the same time without pairing the batteries together. It basically lets current go one way but not the other.

When the engine is running, yes?  So regardless of how the battery switch is set, both batts are charging when under way?

The Isolator is only for the charging system via the alternator.  The on board battery charger has individuall charging capability's.   The isolator center terminal is the alt input and the two outside terminals are for the battery one and battery two.  The isolator will allow charging both batteries while engine is running, in either switch position.  Al
