350 MAG MPI oil quantity

2003 350MAG MPI.  Manual says it hold 4.5qts of oil.  I drain from the pan plug and even with a new filter it reads full with 4 quarts.  Others find this too?

My 2004 350 Mag MPI only takes 4 quarts to full mark draining from pan plug.

I have experience the same, even from the drain plug.  2009 350MAG MPI

I wager there is a fresh fill of 4.5qts.. I wager what's held on the lip between the valve covers and heads, and in the valley around the lifter gallery and around the spider/retainer is easily half a quart.  I further wager there ain't no way to get it out of there short of tearing off the covers, the intake manifold, and using towels to sop it up... This isn't even talking about the pump and what it holds...  It's mighty hard to get it all out.
