bravo 3 prop seal

I was able to change my prop seals on my bravo 3 /without removing the shaft. I drilled two small holes in seal and using two sheet metal screws hooked to slide hammer puller pulled them out. Has anyone else ever used   this method. Using a pipe and driver I knocked in new seals.     Now no more oil seepage.

I have heard of it being done this way-replaced mine recently and he tried it that way but ended up pulling the carrier bearing assembly which does not require pulling the shaft.
