Mercathode system on 2004 FV 250

Where is that located?  Is it mounted on the engine?  Or is it a panel mounted elsewhere?  Where should I expect find the electrodes mounted?

    2 pieces, one on the outdrive, underside of the gimbal unit in the water. Other part on the engine, blue box most likely, front of engine, usually port side.

    I found the blue box on the engine and I think I see the unit under the gimbal.  Is it bolted underneath where the two sets of hydraulic lines come out and run to the trim pistons?  If so, I don't see a wire or any type of electrical connection.  Can I just remove the two bolts and pull it down??

    Pretty much. There is a wire that runs up from it to the blue controller. These rarely go bad from what I hear. Removing it means taking the drive off and dealing with the wire and keeping water from coming in.
