What can I expect top speed wise out of my 93' 300 Fiesta vee with twin 5.7 260hp ?

I have not had the chance to test top speed yet, since I just got the boat end of season, and its stored away now. And all the times I had it out on the lake were very choppy. It seems to plane very quick , and get on top in the 18-20mph range. I had it up to 32 mph, however conditions were far from optimal and still have lots of trim playing around.

you think this type of boat can hit over 40mph?

It should hit over 40.  My 2002 310 with same engines (well, close to the same, they were MPI) hit over 40.

I would guess close to 40 mph at WOT.  You should be at 75% to 80% full throttle at a good cruise speed of 30 mph.

I tought that 5.7 was around 300 hp, my 5.0 mpi are 260 hp

These are old school carbed ones rates at 260hp (sad I know) considering my 5.7l LS1 is putting out 380hp

but they are old design v8's

300FV with twin 260HP. About 40 mph at wot as read by a gps, which is really decent for an 11,000 pound boat.

Will try next season for a top speed run when the lake is glass.

@F1100, you'll actually get more speed if there is a light ripple on the water's surface to reduce surface tension on your hull. A 1" to 3" ripple will get you the most speed.
