xdp out drives ,,, exhaust

I have the exhaust that DOES NOT go thru the lower unit ,,, I see some do .. My question is can I change the exhaust flange and add bellows to send the exhaust thru the lower unit ? thanks  rick

Does this make the exhaust noise louder or about the same.?

I have a bellows on one engine and an exhaust tube the other. You can unmistakably tell the tube is louder but nothing terrible or worth complaining about

I had the "open bellows" installed on my Bravo 1 383 and it sure was louder when the boat was riding on the last foot of the hull at 70 mph! LOL

I installed the exhaust tube on my Mercruiser powered 270 and had no complaints. A little louder and no loss of speed. Not sure about a Volvo application.
