Ok so I'm going back to Brooksville Fl for another two weeks for work (just got back from 18 days) and I need some ideas as to what is there to do around there. i work the crew 7 days 12 M-F 8 or so on the weekend so any ideas? This is not my idea of Florida i prefer more southern, but something the boys could do for a day with out me having to bail them out of jail would be great LOL

Well you can wrestle alligators or search for 25 foot pythons. You are not far from Tampa or Orlando.

Best I found to play with so far was  rattle snake. On first day on plant. Lol did find a kayak place in gonna try

Crystal river swim with manatee is big in the area, Rainbow River is popular for swimming, snorkeling, canoeing, and kayaking. It has Crystal clear water. But finding something to do in Brooksville? bailing them out of jail could be fun LOL

I was listening to a radio program this am....while this city is much of nothing today, back in the day it was the tangerine capital and quite the booming city. Also, as late as the 1940's there were still lynchings of black folks. There was a pastor there that was hanged because he performed a mixed marriage much to the displeasure of the local townsfolk...to the point where the fed's could not prosecute as know one in town would testify. Hard to imagine that kind of behaviour still going on as late as the 40's but this is the south. There are people alive today that were perhaps born or raised during that and perhaps still remember- isn't that wild? Today the town is 7500 people, they have a blueberry festival there every year similar to a strawberry festival they have in Plant City. Never learned all that in my civics classes!
