Oh ya a lot of room on the 420. The 400 has a smaller engine bay narrower hull too. Did you know we pulled a barefoot skier behind the 400 at Sarasota? Long line deep water start. Pulled off of the hard top grab rails. Ya those were great times.
I believe that! Earl Faust used to pull wakeboarders behind his "demo" 342 with twin 350 Mags/B3 setup.

@Alswagg. OK that makes something I heard a couple of years ago sense - I came across a guy in a 420 at a marina who said his 420 had a 13' 10" beam. I didn't argue with him but I thought he might have had it wrong as I thought the 400 series were all 13' wide. So, he was right! I'll be darned.
@aero3113, AWESOME video. I'm thinking I need to get the nephews and nieces on some wakes this coming summer. I used to be a real good slalom skier so I didn't want a big wake but with wakeboarding and wakesurfing my 360 could sure do that. I could bury it's a** end and the kids could pretend they were in Costa Rica.
Wow and I thought my boat was unique...I have never heard of the Cat motors in a Rinker...was it also available with the IPS pod drive ? or was that strictly a Volvo thing ?
Older "pod" systems are Volvo called IPS. Mercury now makes a "pod" system (for the last few years) that many say is a lot better, called Zeus.
BTW I believe a major differentiating factor is that Mercury's props are at the stern of the drive while Volvos props are at the bow end of the drive. Many say that the Volvo system exposes the props too easily to damage.
Oh...and just a footnote...the only way my boat would see 42mph, is if it fell off the back of a tractor trailer going down the highway. It pulls out of the hole and jumps on plane, but levels off fast in the low to mid 30s.
we used our 310 to tow MANY people on kneeboards, wakeboards, triple tubes and skis. was actually pretty funny passing dedicated wakeboard boats with people unable to get up, with my 8 year olds cutting in/out of the wake...
Once again, Rinkers rule! Great shots. Your kids will remember that forever! Imagine looking back at the boat from a ski and seeing something that big up on plane towing you - must look wicked! Thanks for the shits - summer can't return soon enough!
@summerx, great shots!!! BTW, my 280 EC came from Middle River. In the summer, the PO had her docked at the Parkside Marina and stored her at Chesapeake Yachting Center. Nice area down there!!!

our first boat was in the racks at chesapeake Yachting center. We have had boats and kept them at 5 different marina's over the years, all either on middle or back river, which right next to it. It may not be the most efficient or typical tow boat, but I gotta give it credit that it gets the job done. Plus, all 5 of us can spend the night on it, which was the other consideration when we moved to a cruiser.
my 270 does not have one either, I bought the boat in late fall, so no chance to try it but I was going to hook up under the swim platform, where you would attach tie downs to trailer. but you will have to get in the water. Had thought about drilling in one in above platform. Just purchas new tube for grand kids.
I have one. I think it is 14'? it is significantly longer than 8' for sure. you can either attach it to the rear clears or to the trailer tie downs under the platform.
I'm pretty sure this tow rope floats as I have used Airhead products many times but make sure it does as there are few things more annoying than having to cut a rope that is tangled in the props!

Is it safe to attach that much pull and torque to a cleat?
Trailer tie downs seems like good way to go.
