I just picked up a leftover 2015 F150 XLT 4x4 with the 3.5L Ecoboost engine. It is rated to tow 10,500, which will pull my 280 and give me better MPG while not towing. I traded a 2003 F250 5.4L 4x4 with 56000 miles on her for the new one. I just need to find some factory electric tow mirrors. Right now I can only find the manual glass ones without the turn signal lights in them. Maybe @rasburycan help with part numbers.

Just bought a 99 F350, 7.3, for second truck just for towing boat, it had short mirrors, found some on E-bay, The expandable kind, electric adjustment, but manual pull in and out. $125.10 for the pair, the company name was championtrade, came from CA, bolted right up. These did not have turn signal on them though. Some do have. Ford is got it going on with a 150 and a 10,500 tow . bet you cannot wait to hook up and try it out. Sometime follow up and let us know how it pulls. Almost went that way but decided to buy extra truck. type in Ford Tow mirrors on E-bay
@Cableguy Greg your best bet will be salvage- to get them from Ford you would have to buy them piece by piece- we don't have a "kit" to convert. Your best bet would be aftermarket suppliers or even salvage. I'm towing my 270 with the 3 valve 5.4L and a 3:73 rear end which puts me right at 10000 towing which handle the boat fine- that Eco Boost motor is absolutely the way to go- if you got the heavy tow package and has the 4:10 rear end, I don't think you will see the "savings" when your not towing but a lot of that will be how you drive it. The regular axle you can get upwards of 20 on the highway but not with that rear end in it. Still, all in all a great truck I'm sure you will enjoy. That 7.3L diesel is the bomb for sure @rand56 and hard to come across. there were some transmission issues with that motor with the torque is has but by 99 I think those issues had cleared- good find!
