Battery question

I brought my boat home from storage last night and when I turned the battery switch on, the lights would not come on until I put it on both batteries. I had the batteries off and the helm switch on, as far as I know, nothing running. It had has sat for around 6 weeks. One time I put it up and apparently left the bilge switch on and I'm sure that is set up to run no matter what. Is this what you would say normal? Also, lights would not come on because either battery had to low power and together they would work?

Is the house battery a deep cycle? If so you might be able to save it. If it's a crank battery chances are it's done.
Always unplug the batteries at the cables when storing and use an external battery or shore power to lower your Hatch.Boat Name: King Kong

I think your house battery is shot. Needs more investigation but that's my gut feeling.
