Painting trim tabs

What do you all do to prep your stainless trim tabs for paint? I have read that abrading them good is the only way to get primer to stick. For some reason it bothers me to scar up that nice stainless even though paint is going over it. I do know I'm tired of scrubbing the barnacles every month while in season. What say you...

Yeah I have seen that Propspeed stuff and it gets great reviews. It is ridiculously expensive though. Is prop coat another similar version or did you have the name wrong?
jme - Yes its salt water and the stainless gets lots of barnacles by end of season. I would rather not have to clean them throughout the season but I also don't want to be stripping and repainting from scratch every season because the paint peels off.

Prop Coat
Just to clarify my boat was in Chesapeake Bay and tributary's this would be brackish water but I still believe this might work well for you, at least worth looking into.
