I know this is off the mark but I got into a discussion with a co-worker today. Does anyone know when back up lights on a car became mandatory????? I could not find it with google.

Really Steve really.....lol I am old????  I could not find the exact date on Google and yes I know how to use it. Dream that is when they started adding them to cars. Looks like it became mandatory in 1966............

NO no no my girl doesn't even drive and what a PITA that is.....lol. Saw a car at work and that back up lights did not work. Someone said better get those fixed or he cant get a inspection sticker and I said there was a time you did not need them and he said "no you always needed them".............................................................

lots of changes to cars over the years..remember when the dimmer used to be on the floor? They almost moved it back to the floor, to many people were getting their foot stuck in their steering wheel trying to move the lever back and forth...

The high beam switch was on the floor

I havent had a car with the high beam switch on the floor for 15 years (back in 2001, 1976 suburban)    I STILL try to turn the high beams on with my foot. jeez .
Remember how the car would flunk safety inspection because sand/dirt would jam up the switch

My friend had a Corvair convertible. It was fantastic as long as you didn't hit a couple of bumps in a row or it wanted to bounce off the road. The girls seemed to love it too LOL. His was white with a black top.
