2002 342 anchor rode size.

Hi guys. The spring projects are starting. I am looking to replace the anchor rode this year but the rope is starting to come apart. It looks like 5/8 but is to old and swollen to get a good sizing. I know that I need to stay with the 3 line for my windless but is it 9/16 or 5/8.

Thanks for your time

My 370 uses 9/16", so I'm guessing your 342 would be the same.

Actually my windlass used 1/4 chain + 1/2 line.  My windlass is a Horizon 600.  I'd check the brand of windlass and contact them to ask.  Also, I made the mistake of using double braided instead of 3 strand.  My windlass would not grab the double braided line.  SO I had to pull it all out and get another new rode with 1/2 inch 3 strand.

Thank you guys. I will be looking at the windlass on Friday. I know it is a horizon and pretty sure its the 600.

Just remember that the 600 is hard to get parts for.

I see that. I plan to get into it this weekend I hope to run things through there paces on ground this weekend. I hate to replace it while its working.  We will see how things go. But I have a guy ready to do the splice when ever I am ready.
