1995 Rinker 280 Fiesta Vee just purchased

Hello,

First time member and first post.

I am looking for tips and things to watch for on this boat. Coming from a 25ft sundancer.

Rinker has twin 4.3 LX mercs with alphas. No AC. I am looking into getting a AC/Heat unit by next season and best location looks to be the aft cabin. This way I don't have to run miles of wire and hose.

Anything else?

Why did you decide on a Rinker and welcome aboard!

My 280 had A/C added after the fact.  The compressor/unit went into the mid-cabin near the water heater.  The duct work went form there to the V berth with a split (box) behind the galley and a small vent into the galley area.

I liked the price lol and boat looks much more modern for the year.
main reason I switched was to get a wider beam and twin engines.

Welcome to the forum and that boat looks really clean! You'll love the twin engines!  I added AC to my first boat, a 24' Sundancer.  Was a pretty easy install since I already had an extra seacock installed.

Wow! That boat has quite a bit of room in the cabin.  Looks good!

It always seems that "older" boats seem to have more room for their stated size.  Rinkers still seem to have a good amount of room for their model designation, but boats like Sea Rays seem to feel smaller for the same "size".  -=Mike G.

Very true.
My old dancer had more room then new 270 dancer.
its all about the main deck space now. Once you go up to 30 plus feet then it opens up.

Plenty of room in that 280.  Having 10 feet of beam is nice.

Will do! I am hoping to get the Marina figured out by the end of this month and be in the water in late April.

What size Rinker did you get last year Stodge? and is it a 12ft beam.

This will be our 3rd season in the 342.  She is 37 foot on paper.  They include the platform.  And yes she has a 12 foot beam.
