Rinker V170 Interior Re-Do

Hi all.  New to the board. 
I'm the proud owner of an early 80's Rinker V170.  17' I/O Mercruiser 140.  Engine is great, hull is great, but my interior is slowly deteriorating.  I know I need to install new carpet at some point, and perhaps a new floor.  I need to build a new motor cover, and cover over the stern (that houses the battery etc...)  I have several questions, the most important of which would be...is it worth it?  I have no reason to get a bigger boat (well...except having a bigger boat), but we ski, tube, troll for salmon (lake michigan), and enjoy family time.  We love the boat.  How much can i expect to spend by gutting the boat and starting over with new flooring/carpet, vinyl.  It is in pretty bad shape.  Also, what kind of wood would I need to build the box over the motor? 

So many questions...Please let me know your thoughts.

I would use marine plywood or pressure treated plywood where ever you can. I don't know what they used originally but it never seems to hold up even with the seats. You can buy new seats ready to bolt in.

Brings back some fond memories - my first Rinker was a 1984 V-170 with 120 hp Mercruiser Inline 4 cylinder. Absolutely loved that boat and spent countless hours on the Illinois and Kankakee rivers near my house. This boat is why I have owned 7 Rinkers! :-)
IMO, it is a keeper - if you are at all handy with wood and have a place to work on it it is a great boat and there are lots of upholstery shops that can make the interior look like new.

Hi everyone.  So I FINALLY got around to tearing out the carpet to get a look at the soft spot under the driver seat.  Here is what I'm dealing with.  I also have a pretty beat up engine compartment box.  Can I replace just a small portion of the wood, or will I need to do the entire deck?  Any comments would be helpful.  I'm pretty lost at this point.

I would redo both entirely. Why not when you got it all out and exposed? Great chance to do a better job than the factory with better materials today

Replace all of it IMO, the hardest part is cutting it to fit, sometimes it's better to use a big pic of cardboard first to make a templet. It's cheaper than several sheets of 3/4 treated plywood.
