How to optimize my searches

Is there a way to specify in the search box that you only want results that include ALL the words I specify?  For example, when I want to search for past discussions that cover "342 leak rear berth" I only want response that include all those words.  But I see that it returns any response with "342" or "leak" or "rear" or "berth" and I get responses such as "Where do I find new canvas for my 342?"

The search engine in Vanilla is bizarre.  I've never figured it out.

One thing that does seem to work:  the minus sign will omit some results, as in:
       342 leak rear berth -fuel

Using quotes will help reduce the search returns, but it must be an exact match, for example "rear berth" will return only exact matches for rear berth. I just tried "342 leak rear berth" and got no returns, so...    good luck!

I think if you put an "&" between the words without spaces it finds posts with those words in any order.
