Stuck gear lube drain plug

My bottom drain plug in Bravo III will not turn out by hand. I am leery of using heat. Some online sources reccomend an impact screwdriver. Any thoughts?

Yes impact will work great. Had to do my port drive this early spring like that from previous owner. Make sure you take a small pin and remove any paint or gunk around the drain.
Then use a large flat bit and pound that sucker out. Replace port and side drain plugs and put all new gaskets on the drains.

I've used impact screwdriver with great success on that same plug.  I bought the cheap one from harbor freight and also used on a buddy's drive with no issues.
