Probably a question for Al:

Can you change the Bravo III water hose without removing the bell housing?

Might be more tricky now with the new hose kit. The upper part is now hard plastic.

Here is a pic of the new hose kit with the rigid end for the transom side.  Just had one installed (the old one was kinked at the transom end...just put in last year too.)

OK after 3 years of sporadic overheating at high RPMs and countless hours of trying to figure out why. I discovered my plastic threaded inserts has broken away at the transom wall.  Allowing air to get into the system when on plane at higher RPMs. I have a thur hull water pick up and really don’t want to replace my water hose. My question: is will I hurt anything by shutting off my outdrive water supply and just use my thur hull water supply? I would replace the hose when I do the next boot job.

I would think that water coming up from the drive is cooling the drive as well.  I'm sure Al will comment.

Can't you just replace the insert with a new one?
