Trim Needle Bouncing

Hello All  - The trim gauge needle on my 2008 246 5.7 Bravo 3 bounces up and down when I trim the motor.  It seems to "settle" after I am done trimming though I am not sure the reading is accurate.  277 hours. Thoughts?
