What should my alternator charge be putting out?

I have a 2010 Rinker 226R and at an idle my voltage indicator on the dash is reading 13.2v. Also I have two battery system and was wondering should I be running the boat on the "Both" switch for the battery or should I Use battery 1 for driving and battery 2 for when I am just sitting.

It should put out 14.2 volts at 1000 rpm

the gauge at the dash only reads what the voltage is at the dash. it has nothing to do with the volts at the batteries. SOOOOOO with that being said you have to read the volts at the battery
