I replaced the amp in my boat yesterday, during this process i collected and discovered some information i thought i would share for someone who tackles this process in the future.
First and foremost, i found that i was able drop my amp out through the hvac vent return below the bed and onto the floor allowing me to rewire for the new amp in a comfortable space. There is no need to work upside down through the hatch opening below the mattress pad after dismounting the factory amp.
Here is the speaker color wiring code as observed in my boat.
