anti-corrosion system

On my two year old ocean x drives they have a anti-corrosion led light in the engine compartment. Green for all is well. However the leds stopped working but the units still has full 12volt power as it should. The lights flicker sometimes when starting the engines but that's it. It seems that when I put new batteries in last summer they began to have issues. VP says the units are still functioning as they should even with the leds not working. Any ideas why they flicker when starting and don't stay on as they originally did when new?
