Blower popping a circuit breaker

SkyrydrSkyrydr Member Posts: 3
I'm fairly new to boating and not very mechanical but could use some help.  I'm prepping my 2006 Rinker 226 Captiva for summer.  I just replaced the battery because I noticed that the used boat dealer I bought it from last year put a deep cycle battery in.  I changed that out with an 800cca 180ah marine battery.
I started her up to warm the oil so I could change it out and tested all the electrical switches.  Everything worked fine, but for some reason the circuit breaker above and to the right of the ignition, which seems to be connected to the blower keeps popping.  What could be the problem?

Did you verify the blower is working properly or is it locked up.  These are fairly common to replace.  I keep 5 of each size in stock.  Blowers are usually 3" on your sized boat.  Easy to replace if not working properly.  Just two wires and a couple hoses.   Good luck  Al

Yep, that was the  problem.  The blower impeller was stuck, probably a little corrosion.  I broke it free and sprayed in a little WD40 long term corrosion inhibitor and it's working fine now.  Like I said, I'm new to all this, so I had no idea what a blower even looked like or where to find it.  Thank goodness for internet searches and YouTube.  Thanx for your advice.

I'd plan on replacing as it will come back with the same issues again.  Cheap fix.
