Guys - living in Pensacola has it's perks, like getting to watch the Blues practice twice a week every spring from my work or home. Pensacola loves it's hometown Blue Angels. The tragic loss of one is a loss for the whole community, we all grieve. Our prayers and thoughts go out to the hero who lost his life his family (wife and two kids).
The word here (not sure if it's on the news yet) is he intentionally stayed with the jet until it hit the ground in order to guide it into an empty field, as this was a populated area and had he ejected his plane could have crashed into a neighborhood causing massive loss of life. He had time to eject, he chose not to. Gentlemen, that is the definition of a hero!
This Sailor, Aviator and Hero will be remembered.
Best wishes.

Go Steelers!!!
A Hero indeed! His was a remarkable act of selflessness.
You should go up on the lighthouse across from the field when they're training! A great vantage point and fly-by's aren't uncommon.
