ignition switch

I have the factory original ignition/key switch to start the motor. My question is: the PO said it was "push to choke" I do have to push it in a little bit to get it to rotate, but I'm chalking that up to age. I suspect it may be on the fritz, So to replace it, what works?? 1995 fv-265

when the PO said push to choke he was talking about activating the choke on the  carburetor for the motor. have some push it and see if choke is moving

unless someone monkeyed with the ignition switch it is not a push to choke. That is on old boats, usually outboards. Your engine should have an automatic choke that usually doesnt work

Could the PO be talking about the push button on the throttle? Push to advance the throttle without putting it into gear then start?

That's what I would think. Push the button, then pump the throttle, then start.
