Green battery wire

just recently purchased my first Rinker. It's a '99 212 with a 5.0.  I was installing a new battery and realized that there is a green wire. I don't remember it being connected to the battery. It has a terminal that looks the same size as the other battery wires. I'm assuming it is supposed to connect to the negative?  Does this seem right?

NO! I would not connect it until you trace it out and find out where it goes. The last thing you want to do is cross your 110vac with the 12vdc. THAT COULD BE DEADLY. Trace it out and if it is part of the 12vdc system use colored electric tape to mark the wire the appropriate color.

Normally, green is used to bond metal objects such as thru-hull fittings for corrosion protection.  Gotta trace that wire and see where it goes.

raybo is 100% on point! you short out your 110vac with your 12v dc and your battery will most likely explode in your face!
