gas guage

edmedm Member Posts: 2

Hi all,

Glad to be a new member, just bought 1995 Rinker 265.

Can anyone tell me which wire is for the gas guage, my guage is working periodically and I know it is just a loose connection.

Welcome to the RBOC and good luck with your new ride. Do not ever ever trust a gas guage on a boat. It only gives you a rough and I mean a rough idea of how much gas you have.

Mine works pretty well I can guess within 3 or 4 gallon how much gas it will take on a fill up I have a 100 gallon tank and when it hits 1/4 tank it takes right at 70 gallon.

Now that only works if I'm not going up hill

    :)) :))

Fuel flow monitors solve the "how much gas do I have" question. The fuel gauge is just a nice visual.
