Thousand Island Rinkers- St Laurence river

just got back from my trip to the thousand islands. Happy to say it went  without a hitch..! Couldn't believe how many pretty Rinkers I saw up there!

Anybody on this forum hail from up there?

That used to be my stomping ground. Did you post before you left? @BMXZ and I could have met you for a beer(s).

The area is full of Rinkers. There are four in the marina below my condo and it's a small marina.

@Michael T I should have posted before! I didn't realize you were up there... Would have been awesome to meet up! We will be making the trip again and would like to find some of the "hidden stuff".... Thinking of taking a short trip to waupoos and going to the islands from there. 

I hauled her out yesterday and changed the motor oil and lower unit oil... We put 120 hours on this summer already...:)

That would be a nice trip.....lake Ontario still makes me nervous yet....lol.....how long to get across?

we had a calm trip up and back...3.5 hours to get across at about 17kts

wow @Michael T at one point we were right there! -actually i think thats where we turned around! Punch Fairhaven NY into mapquest..Thats where we hail from!

@Michael T going for a ride on @Handymans342 diesels? If you can boat over to Cayo Costa while your there, you will be amazed......but you have to be able to get to the north part of the island and not just the state park....there are the shell boats that go over there, worth putting up with the tourists to get a good look at this island.

Our gallon is a bit bigger, you can google it. Our gas prices vary but may be slightly higher but when the gallon size is taken into account not so different.....HOWEVER - this summer your dollar was worth anywhere from 28% to 35% more and that is UGE! LOL.

I'm from Canada lol gas was priced really **** this yr that's for sure lol I was planing on a week long trip see how are I could make it in 4 days and then turn around

I keep my Rinker in Alexandria Bay in 1000 islands. Next time you're up, shoot me a PM and I'll show you around. Lots of great places to anchor.

I live just up the river from AB on the CDN side. Used to drive there when I lived in Manotick (near Ottawa) for great fun in AB since the 80's.
