342 Rinker forsale

checkmatecheckmate Member Posts: 131 ✭✭✭
Selling 2002 342. 6.2 bravo 2's.   Around 630 hrs on engines and 250 on gen.  If you know anyone interested.  Only reason selling is cause I've been living on 2 house payments and a boat payment for 6 months.  The buyer on house fell through after 7 weeks and put us in bind.  Need one of the two gone.  So if you want a house in water to, I have that for sale also.  Lol.  Fresh water boat it's whole life.  $50,000 .  Boat will come off market if house sells.

Seems like the my problem with selling the boat is the hole in dash.  It was stolen out of boat from first owner.  I'm the 3 Rd owner.  Second owner or myself decided to fix it.  But it seems to be a deal breaker.  Here is pics

What was in that spot? It might be worth the cost to have a good gel guy repair it for you.

seems like you could create a storage place there somehow and trim it out nice easier than trying to make it look like it never happened....I'd think you can come up with something pretty easily?

I was told that their use to be a GPS their that was stolen.  I have a person that is gonna come look at this spring. I'll see what options he has to make it look better and more presentable.

I would buy pieces of plastic "starboard" and make a nice looking cover that way, using a router for the edges, then I would buy a decent but inexpensive chart plotter to put there. The way it is now could take thousands off of your price but adding a new piece of electronics and spending $1500 on a decent piece of electronics will set it apart from similar boats.

The original GPS was there. Someone went crazy with a saw!  Took out the whole pad.  Amazing someone stole it, even new it was pretty low end GPS.

Actually BD the original GPS appears to still be in the spot above the "hole".  I'm guessing an upgraded GPS was in the lower position.

Off topic question, but how do the 6.2's do in the 342? Get it out of the water pretty good? Any idea on fuel burn?

It definitely gets out of water with no issues.  We load the boat up with full fuel/water, gear, and two adults and three kids, etc.  We do a couple big trips a summer and it gets right up on plane.  I have the bravo II in mine.  Don't know how the bravo III do.  As for the fuel consumption I try not to pay attention.  Lol.

That is a small world, Jeff is my cousin.    Knowing Jeff, I'm surprised it took that long to make the connection.    Then again, it was snowmobiling season, now it's turning into boating season.

Haven't really been advertising it to much after last season, when I had two house payments.  I currently rent my old house now so it's not so bad.  We'll keep using it as long as we got it. But yes I'll will sell it if right buyer comes up.

It's a great price, considering I paid 45 for my 270 (after replacing the engine)

Guy wanted out and 30+ some change was his payoff

Hole in dash is still their.  Just got a fresh coat of bottom paint.
  • zaverin1zaverin1 Member Posts: 1,672 ✭✭✭
If I was ready to upgrade then yes. My 280 fits me now and with everything going on didn't want to drop that kind of cash. I thought about buying and flipping but with boats it's a crap shoot even if you do get it for 37k
