Anyone planning on going? It'll be my first time by boat and was just
wondering if any fellows Rinker owners were going. Would rather tie up and/or
ride down alongside someone I kinda know, if possible.
I'll be leaving Friday late morning from Lake St Clair and coming back sometime Sunday, of course all weather and wind allowing.
Weather looks perfect right now, and I'm going as "single Joe", and I'll have plenty of adult beverages for a good time.

@JoeStang How long of a trip is that from St Clair?

So I figure about 3 hours, give or take a 1/2 hour depending on lake conditions. I'll use about a tank of gas overall, which is about $200.

Joestang, If I am over that way I will look you up. I live about 4 miles away on the mainland. Prefer to avoid going to the Bay on weekends for the very reason many people decide to go there. Its a nice place during the week.
Docks, I'm assuming you are going to stay at the public docks. I have stayed at C Dock & B Dock.
Be prepared to be rated off. This is my favorite part of the weekend, I like meeting new neighbors each trip.
I perfer C Dock over B, B Dock is where the party is at. C Dock has good party, just turned down a bit. I also like the dock hands on C Dock. The B Docks hands can get a little excited.
To to help keep the excitement level low on docking, make sure to radio whatever dock your going to stay at, tell them length & how long. Then follow their instructions, it can get really tight when docking
then grab a drink & have fun!
I dont mind rafting up, and I can put up the canvas, so the only place for people to walk across the boat is on the bow or swim platform, so I cant imagine much damage can happen there.
My dad lived in Port Clinton close to 10 years when I was a teenager, so I'm very familiar with PIB and the route in. Its always sad and kinda funny seeing the people try to cut between Gibralter and the island, only to be standing in a foot of water and on the rocks.
Fingers crossed the wind doesnt pick up much more on Friday. NE 15knots is what theyre calling for right now.

I gotta get back into the swing of things now, but expect some fun pictures soon.
