Can anyone tell me what this is, it's been fitted to my rinker 242, Only thing written on it is VIP 1, not sure what it's is or does, can anyone shed any info

Just found what it is ! It's a gas conversion switch ! So looks like they took the rest out and left this part live !

So your boat at one time ran on an alternative fuel source?  LP or Natural gas?  Kind of cool.

Yes it seems that way, the toilet waste tank was not in when I bought so I take it they took it out to fit the gas cylinder.

My brother in law converted his fleet of trucks to propane. I think he felt the maintenance schedules were better but I do know that the engine efficiency dropped regarding HP and Torque. I want to say it was about 18%. He sold the company a few years ago. I wonder how propane stands up against the cheap prices of gas? Plus it isn't cheap to convert!
