Does anyone know why a VV 260 (not the EC) is listed on the registration as 26 feet, but I keep seeing specs and other documentation, such as weight/length as 28 feet?

You have to add the swim platform

Correct. In many cases, such as when renting a slip, boats lengths are measured by "LOA" or "length overall" which includes the anchor and the swim platform.
