Belt dust

Hi,
it seems that I have quite a bit of belt dust in the floor of my engine bay, the belt seems to be in good condition  no stress crack or any excessive wear, I don't remember having this problem in the past years .
Any ideas ?

How are all the pulleys? Rusted?

Excessive belt dust is from the belt slipping. This can be from a loose belt and/or glazed pulleys.

I did not see any rust on any of the pulleys, I will check for loose belts or glazed pulleys.

bad belts or rusted/out-of-alignment pulley.

You can also put a caliper on the engine block and adjust it towards the pulley at idle to see if there is run-out of your pulley.

It turn out that one fo the idlers pulley was quite loose,everything seems fine now, the boat is already on land, will see next spring.
