Boat docker simulator

I came across this little boat docking simulator online. It's not too friendly on a smart phone but still fun and a pretty comprehensive tool that might be a little useful for someone new to docking. You can pick type of dock, wind direction, wind speed, current etc. Check it out its free.

I am better at docking than I am at this simulator!  Pretty cool and lots of fun.

I like it, because I am not in situ and can see looking behind me etc it makes me react more about what I am doing and the desired result than based on what I see and doing. It's not the real thing of course but for me increases awareness of actions.

After playing with this game/simulator, I went to the real boat to see how I could dock the boat. I had a heck of a time because instead of arrow keys to guide me left or right, all I found was a big shiny wheel looking thing. Now what?

I post on this item often.  It is that good and besides we have maybe some new folks on the site since the last time.  At West Marine, they have a little "stick on" turns indicator that you mount on the hub of the steering wheel.  It tells you at a glance which way the out drives are pointing.  As well as how much.  Once I found one of these my docking abilities went way up.  It lets you stand and still see it.
